Hagabergslidens Kennel

This is what it looks like on  an early spring day at our home. We live in Fjärås, a small village about 40 kilometers south of Göteborg. Our garden ends in a large forest which is perfect for us and for our kennel.

We are a family of 5, dad Jan, mum Ragna, big sister Hillevi, brother Jacob och little brother Otto. It is I, Ragna, who runs the breeding in the kennel but all the members of the family have their parts to play. I have the Swedish Kennelclub's breeder's education and I am also a trained show-secretary.

When our old mongrel died, we all agreed that we wanted a pure-bred dog this time and someone suggested a PON. Our friends told us that they seemed to be a "cool" breed.

And so they were. The first Pon I met was Rojjj's uncle Scheffelfältets Genial Gambler and he WAS a cool dog. I immediatly felt drawn to him. And then I was lucky enough to get to buy Rojjj. Rojjj is full of personality and beauty he maked me happy every day. A wiser and gentler dog will be difficult to find.....

Caring for a pon and seeing a well-kept pon with fur flying  is a revelation of beauty - they are both sturdy and elegant at the same time. We have now left the pons behind but they still have a small part of my heart and Daikou our lovely champion male has a large part of it :-)

My son Otto wanted a dog that he could show - the pon is a bit too strong for a little boy who isn't always completely focused on what he is doing. And I wanted a second breed at the kennel so I started to search.... and how I searched....it could not be a dog who was too big, not too much fur, not too noisy, a happy breed, and sturdy enough to get along with the pon. Well, as it turned out the only thing left to choose was the French Bulldog. And we haven't regretted it for a moment. The French Bulldog has taken become a large part of my heart and I can't but agree with those who say - once a French Bulldog, always a French Bulldog.
